The Ghost in the Shell Anime was one of my favorites to watch growing up. The story, art, characters and the action still stand out to me more than many other great anime shows. This is why I am excited to see a live action movie.

Many people have problems with Scarlett Johansson Playing the lead Role of Motoko Kusanagi. They say its another example of white washing in Hollywood film making. With Johansson experience on the marvel films I think this is a great role for the actress and the character. See video below for more on this subject:
Some Future Scifi films have a narrow view when it comes to the world. "The Island" or "Surrogates" are good examples where the story and conflict only show a narrow view of the world. Other movies like "Minority Report", "AI", "I Robot" and even "Bicentennial Man" show so much more of the world that the story takes place in. They are more Rich. This is what I feel the Ghost in the Shell franchise has always done good at. Even in the original film there is a richness to the world when screen time is limited.
