About The Author
Eric Higgins.Ever since I was little I can remember drawing. I contribute much of why I drew as a child to my oldest brother Chad, he used to draw things with me and teach me more complicated ways to draw like drawing 3D objects. As I got older and started Junior High School I took a basic art Class. I enjoyed the art classes so much I took every art class I could till I graduated High School. My first real achievement was in 6th grade, I had painted a Watercolor mountain landscape, which I was proud of. My mom was proud of it too, she framed it and hung it on the wall for years. It was early on in Junior High that I really discovered the drawing capabilities of a ball-point pen and spent my free time at home drawing all kinds of landscapes.
Its all about the practice which has allowed me to get to where I am today. Especially to be able to draw sheepish in the way that I do. I use a lot of cross hatching and scribbling to get much of the detail when I draw with pen. Over time I learned how to utilize lighting and shadows in my work. Cartooning has come more and more as I have drawn different characters. Nowadays I have been delving more into the digital realm using Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, as well as photo and video film to let my creative juices flow.

School ended, I graduated, but I still ran with the team and my friends through the summer. It was at this time that I began to draw a sheep who would become Mark. As the noise making Junior girls and the rest of the team would finish up their run, they would write down in a notebook their name and how far they had gone for that day. The girls would draw farm animals and other such creatures. I would draw things also, Mostly Sheep.
I discovered the cute and cuddly Mark early on and kept with it. I would draw him quite often. Eventually, it came time for a school project in my college Art Class. I was to make a book that emphasized the Principles of Design. I decided to use my own art-work to show each principle as-well-as use sheep as a fun way to keep it entertaining. It turned out to be pretty successful.
This is really where it started. Eventually, I began to create other characters and develop the story and look of the world. I incorporated my skills in drawing landscapes with pen to enhance the backgrounds of the Comic. I would keep my ideas in a little notebook which I continue to use today. Now sheepish is envisioned here on my blog, and I share it with my others for their enjoyment.

How Sheepish Was Started
People always ask me why I have a fascination with sheep. This is what I usually tell them. Once upon a time, I had just moved to a new school to start off my senior year. My new friends who I began to associate with were the runners on the cross country team. I became close with this group of friends and did lots of fun things with them. However, all this fun also came with the ‘Quirky’ things too? There was a group of Junior girls who would make sheep noises. They would “Ba.a.a.a” their way around school and our 6 mile runs. As a result, I followed and began making these sheepish noises as well.School ended, I graduated, but I still ran with the team and my friends through the summer. Fun Fact
I had someone ask me once,
“Why sheep?”
...
I told them,
“Because they are so cute and cuddly!”
...
The person responded to me with,
“Have you ever been around a sheep, they aren't cute and cuddly?”
